Job Summary:
VPX Performance is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Workshop Foreman / Lead Technician to oversee the daily operations of our luxury European automotive service center. The ideal candidate will possess excellent management skills, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to guide and assist a team of technicians in delivering top-tier service. You will ensure repairs are completed efficiently and correctly, fostering an environment that emphasizes high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise routine vehicle services and repairs, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Assist technicians in diagnosing and resolving complex repair issues, maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the latest automotive technologies and repair procedures.
- Monitor workflow, ensuring efficient scheduling and time management of repair tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the Parts Department and Service Consultants to ensure timely communication regarding parts orders, work order clarity, and repair progress.
- Estimate service and repair times for accurate scheduling and assist in the preparation of detailed repair orders.
- Review and verify completed work orders, ensuring accurate documentation of repairs, labor, and parts used.
- Maintain compliance with warranty procedures, quality control standards, and inspection requirements.
- Stay current with technical training and certifications, continuously improving your knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.
- Lead by example in customer interactions, providing clear explanations of vehicle issues, repair options, and estimated timelines.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by utilizing a calm and professional demeanor, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Identify additional vehicle issues during servicing and provide customers with recommendations for further maintenance or repairs.

- Write labor, time, and parts cost estimates, developing your skills in accurate assessment and communication.
- Test vehicles before and after repair procedures to ensure quality and precision.
- Use in-shop testing devices to check the functionality of car batteries and other components.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the workshop and inventory areas.
- Disassemble engines and car parts to conduct inspections.
- Assist in ordering new parts either online or by phone.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; a certificate or diploma in auto mechanics is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with experience in both manual and automatic transmissions.
- Strong understanding of basic mechanics and a desire to grow your technical knowledge.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
